You are in the right place. Welcome to the Faith Mom. Mentor. I am offering you today an invitation to rest your heart. In truth, this is not a test. This is not a quiz. This is not a moment for you to feel nervous or unsure. Today we are answering one of the most important questions a person can ever ask.
Am I born again? It is not asking do I hope so, nor. I think I am, and not even someone told me once I was saved, but can I know that I am born again? And the beautiful answer from God's word is yes, you can know. Many moms are doing good things. You love God. You care about your kids. You show up to church.
You pray when you can, and yet there can still be a quiet question underneath it all. Am I truly secure with God? Do I really belong to him? Do I know him or do I just know about him? God never meant for you to live with spiritual uncertainty. He did not design faith to feel shaky. He designed it to feel steady.
That is why the Bible talks about knowing, not guessing. We can know that we are born again. The best place to answer this question is not what you think, what someone else told you, or what church tradition says. The best place to answer the question, am I born again, is the word of God itself. God explains salvation clearly because he wants you to be confident.
In one John chapter five, God says something very kind and very clear. He says, these things were written so that you may know that you have eternal life. Not wish, not wonder, not hope someday, but know that tells us something important. God does not want us to be confused. He wants us to be assured. Jesus showed us this in John chapter four with the woman at the well.
You see, she heard Jesus speak herself and she believed that she went and told others that what she had heard, and the people came to Jesus and they listened for themselves and this is what they said, and it is powerful. At the end of chapter four, these people. And the town came and said, at first, we believe because of what you said, but now we know, we believe because we have heard him for ourselves.
Faith becomes steady when you hear God's truth, personally, not secondhand, not borrowed, but received personally. Now let's talk simply and clearly. Being born again does not mean becoming perfect, having all the answers or never struggling again. Being born again means receiving God's gift of life. It means trusting that Jesus is who God says he is.
The Bible says whoever believes that Jesus is, the Christ is born of God. Let's break that down, whoever that means, anyone. No special background required, believes. This means trust, confidence, agreement, not just knowing facts, but resting your heart on them. Jesus, who is God's son who came in human flesh, the Christ, the one God sent the Savior, the one who can take away the sin of the world and bring us back to God.
To believe this is to say, God, I trust what you say about your son. I trust what you say about life. I trust what you say about salvation. That trust is called faith, and the Bible says that person is born again. When someone is born again, God gives them eternal life. God changes what they value. God gives them a new way of living.
Not all at once, not perfectly, but truly. The Bible calls this something similar to maybe a new operating system, a new set of values. You see, there are two ways to live. There's the world's way and then there's God's way. The world says, trust what you can see. Follow your feelings. Protect yourself. God says, trust my word.
Walk by faith. Follow my son. Being born again means you agree with God. You say your way is true, God, even when I can't see it yet, that agreement is faith. God's word says his commands are not heavy or burdensome. They don't bring defeat, they bring freedom. Faith is what gives victory over the world's way of thinking.
Not loud confidence and not perfect behavior, but quiet, faithful assurance. The Bible says, when we love God, when we value his word, when we treasure his way, when we love his people, love doesn't mean perfection. It means direction. Your heart is turned toward God. Jesus once told a story about a man who found a great treasure in a field, and when he realized its value, he sold everything else to have it.
That's what saving faith looks like. It's not adding Jesus to your life, it's choosing him as your foundation. The Bible also gives this warning. Don't look back like lot's wife. Don't hold on like the rich young ruler. Not because God is harsh, but because divided trust brings instability. God wants your heart steady and stable.
When someone is born again, they trust Jesus, they follow him. They grow over time, they become more like him, and the Holy Spirit begins to write God's truth on their heart. Let me ask you something quietly, have you trusted Jesus? Not just in your mind, but in your heart. You agreed with God about who Jesus is.
Have you shifted your confidence from the world's way to God's way? This isn't pressure, it is about peace. Let me pause here for just a moment.
