Welcome to the Faith Mom, mentor. Let's take a deep breath together for a moment. If your faith has felt unsettled, if teaching, your child feels uncertain, if you've ever wondered, do I really understand the gospel as clearly as I should? You are not weak for questioning. You are actually wise, and today we're talking about the gospel.
Not in a complicated way, not in a churchy way, but in a clear, steady Bible true way that brings peace. And not performance, because the gospel is not something you outgrow. It's something you grow deeper into what the gospel actually means. The word gospel itself simply means good news. Not good advice, not a list of rules, not try harder.
Good news means God has done something and he wants you to know exactly what that something is. And here's a important understanding for you, faith mom. If we change the message, if we add to it, if we stop in it or stretch it, then it's no longer the good news. So whenever we talk about the gospel, we must let God say it his way.
Think about the two biggest Christian holidays. Your kids already know about Christmas. Jesus came. Easter, Jesus died, was buried and rose again. If your child truly understands why those two things matter, they are already well on their way to understanding the gospel. Christmas tells us God stepped into human history.
Jesus took on flesh and God came near Easter, tells us Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He was buried, and on the third day, he rose again. You see, that's not tradition, that's truth. And the Bible is very clear about why those events matter. There is one place in scripture where the gospel is laid out plainly, carefully, and completely.
It is in one Corinthians chapter 15 verses one through four. This passage doesn't explain the opinions. It explains salvation, and here is what it says. Simply stated, Christ died for our sins. He was buried. He rose again the third day, and all of it happened. According to the scriptures, that phrase, according to the scripture, matters without the Bible, there is no good news, no clarity, no confidence.
Faith mom, the deeper you understand what it means to be saved, the less you will focus on rules and the more you will focus on what God focuses on, what God says. Clearly, we are all sinners. We all need a savior. Jesus came to die for our sins. He was buried, which means he really did die. And God raised him on the third day and it all happened just as the scripture said it would.
Salvation is not being good enough. If your confidence is rooted in, I'm a good person. The Bible gently but firmly says, no one is good. That's not to shame you, that's actually to free you because of salvation, depended on goodness. None of us would be saved. Jesus once spoke to men who knew the scripture very well.
They studied it, they taught it, they defended it. They were the churchgoers, and he told them something sobering. You searched the scriptures. He said, but you missed me. They knew details, but they missed Jesus. Mom. Don't miss the point by trying to get everything right. You don't know God deeply by doing everything perfectly.
You know him deeply by believing what he said. There was a man named Saul. He was trained by the best teachers. He knew the traditions. He was passionate and driven, but his message was wrong. And one day on the road to Damascus, God stopped him. A bright light, a clear revelation, a complete change. And why?
Because only the true gospel transforms. A blurry message does not change hearts, A mixed message does not give peace, but when the gospel is clear, it changes everything. When the gospel is unclear, it leaves the heart unsettled. You can believe something is true and still feel unsure, restless, or burdened, because confusion always weighs more than truth.
But when the gospel is clear and accurate, something different happens. Truth doesn't rush you. Truth doesn't push you. Truth does not demand perfection. Truth settles you when God's message sinks deep. When scripture speaks louder than opinions, memories, traditions, or even fears, it begins to reorder the inside of you.
What once felt heavy, starts to feel held? What once felt striving begins to feel secure and what once felt like spiritual noise? Becomes quiet confidence. That's because clarity removes the question mark. You're no longer wondering, am I good enough? Did I do this right? What if I misunderstood God? The gospel answers those questions, not emotionally, but foundationally.
The Bible says the testimony of the Lord is sure. Making wise, the simple, that means God's word doesn't require you to be advanced, educated, or impressive. It steadies those who are willing to listen. Clarity doesn't come from knowing more things. It comes from knowing the right things clearly. That's why the gospel, when you understand as God actually gave, it does something quiet but powerful.
Inside a mom, it replaces sadness with relief. It replaces inner conflict with rest. It replaces instability with confidence that doesn't need defending. When salvation is no longer fuzzy, your faith no longer feels fragile, and at the center of the clarity is this message unchanged, unmixed, and it is complete.
Christ died for our sins. He was buried. He rose again the third day, all according to the scriptures. When those words move from being familiar to being personally understood, they don't just inform your mind, they calm your heart. That is why returning to First Corinthians 15. One through four matters so much.
Not because repetition earns something, but because truth when clearly seen, naturally settles where it belongs. Where it's received and when truth settles, peace follows. This matters faith mom. Not because something is wrong with you, but because what is right deserves to be rooted and established in you.
Faith doesn't become steady through effort. It becomes steady through understanding. And when the gospel is clear, it quietly supports you in your thoughts, your reactions, your tone, your presence at home. You don't have to force strength, you don't have to manufacture peace. Clarity creates it and that kind of peace doesn't shout it.
