EP 2//Why Salvation Must Come Before Spiritual Growth

Many moms are working hard to grow spiritually—trying to be more patient, more loving, more peaceful—yet still feel frustrated and unsettled inside.

In this episode, we return to a foundational truth Jesus taught clearly: spiritual growth cannot happen without spiritual life.

Salvation is not the result of growth; it is the starting point. Just as a seed must be planted before fruit can grow, the life of Christ must first be received before the fruit of Christ can be produced.

Together, we explore why relationship comes before growth, why outward effort cannot replace inward life, and how this truth shapes not only our own faith—but how we train our children.

This episode offers gentle clarity, not pressure—helping you walk peacefully by making sure your faith is rooted in life, not striving.

  • Spiritual frustration often comes from trying to grow fruit without first receiving life

  • Jesus teaches that abiding precedes fruitfulness

  • Salvation is the seed from which all spiritual growth grows

  • The “best version of you” is not the goal—new life in Christ is

  • Behavior modification is not the same as spiritual transformation

  • Children must be led to life in Christ, not trained to wear fruit

  • Relationship with Christ always comes before spiritual growth

  •

Reflection Questions for Moms

  • Am I trying to grow spiritual fruit through effort rather than life?

  • Have I received Christ fully—or am I still striving to become “good enough”?

  • What might change in my home if I focused on life before behavior?

  • Am I teaching my children character alone—or pointing them to Christ Himself?

Spiritual growth is not something you force.
It is something that flows from life.

When Christ lives in you, fruit will come.
When fruit comes, peace will follow.

Relationship always comes before growth.
