What does God think about a lion prostitute? That's what day four is all about. The theme is God always protects. In Joshua, you would read chapter 2:es 1-7. The parrot encouragement says, "Rahab kept the men of the one true God close to her and she sent the men seeking to get themselves over the one true God," meaning to get control of the one true God. She sent them on a wild goose chase is what she did. Encourage your children, parents, to always keep the one true God close and direct any who seek to dethrone the one true God. Direct them away. And that's what it says in the New Testament. It says to resist the devil and he will flee from you. And that's what Rahab did when Rahab actually lied and said they went this they went that way. you go that way. When they were actually up on her roof, God honored that because what Rahab was doing is she was sending the people who were trying to get over to get on top of the one true God. She was sending them on a wild goose chase to nothingness. And that's what God desires for your 8 to 12year-old to do before middle school. God desires them to exclude everyone and everything that would resist the authority that would resist the magnitude of God. And what your child will see when they study the book of Joshua on this 50-day journey, which this is just day four, and so much has already happened so far, they will see God's faithfulness. I do want to point out that in day four there is a lot to do a lot of discussion. There's several interesting facts about what the stalks they were with the stocks of flax. And so there's some detail about what flax is and and how they could hide in the flax. And then there's where she sent the spies. And so there's some detail about that. But then there's a discussion. And this is so critical for your 8 to 12year-old to learn how to talk about these things because they have gone they may have gone to church their whole life. They may have gone to Sunday school if your church has Sunday school. You may have done personal Bible study with them at home. They may have learned all the Bible verses. They may have had the homeschool Bible curriculums. They may have gone to Christian school and have Bible class. They may go to church every Sunday in youth group. But until it gets in their mind into their heart, until they can speak it, because the Bible says out of the mouth comes the abundance of the heart. Out of the heart the mouth speaks. And so we need to teach our children not just to have the answers that we tell them. We need to help them from the time they are 8 to 12 years old to prepare for middle school so they will be able to give an answer for the hope that they have within them. And this discussion on day four when it's talking about Rahab in the book of Joshua on day four chapter 2:es 1-7 is the only seven verses. If your child has trouble reading this reading just this short passage, you take a verse, they take a verse, maybe a sibling takes another verse, whether they're younger or older doing this together as a family. It builds confidence in reading. It builds comprehension because you have questions that you answer that are just comprehension questions. But what the discussion questions do, what they do for your child is they help them think about, it helps them hash out, helps them work out in their own mind, well, why did that happen or what other question might come up? So the discussion is discuss Psalm 51:6. So it points you to another verse in the Bible that relates to the book of Joshua. Rahab lied to the king's messenger. So you would have read, you would have looked up Psalm 51:6 and then you would read this. Did she obey God when she lied? God desires truth in the inward part of a person. What are your thoughts? And this is something you're asking your 8 to 12year-old to discuss with you, with you as a mom or you as a family. What are your thoughts about God using a lion harlot to protect his people? Raab was a lion harlot that God used to protect his whole nation. What did God think of her? And I wonder if you remember in the book of Hebrews, is it Rahab listed as a woman of faith? And we're going to see what happened to Rahab. When you are studying this with your child, the book of Joshua unfolds before them. The book of Joshua is open before their eyes. Our eyes are open to the work and the power of God in the life of real people that really lived that there is historical data. There was all these things that are recorded in the book of Joshua. And your 8 to 12year-old, will you take them through the book of Joshua? Will you help them to see that there is victory in living for the Lord? There is victory in trusting the Lord. There is victory in God and his son Jesus Christ and living by the power of the Holy Spirit. There is victory one day at a time. And I'm going to pray for you and then I'm going to tell you how you can get the Joshua Bible study. Father, we praise you. God, there is no other God but you. You are the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. You are the God of Joshua. And Father, I pray right now you would enter the heart and mind of every mother of 8 to 12 year olds all over the world. I ask you, Father, that you would make their hearts burn within them to learn the power of your word, to learn the truth of the gospel and to instill that into the minds and the hearts of their children. I ask you for the mom who might be thinking, "Well, my child's got to decide for themselves." And yes, her child does have to decide for themselves. But I pray God that you would help her understand the responsibility that she has to show her child the truth and let the truth set her child free. God, I pray that you would open the hearts and minds of the book of Joshua to the lives of these moms and their families. And I pray God that you would show forth, that you protect, that you help those who will trust in you. And so I pray that you would build trust today in these moms and in these families by your word and by your power. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. So how do you get this Joshua Bible Study?
